Travis Beaton joined Sher Garner Cahill Richter Klein & Hilbert, L.L.C. in 2014. He earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University in 2011, majoring in International Studies and minoring in Japanese. After college, Mr. Beaton attended Tulane University Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 2014. While at Tulane, Mr. Beaton served as a Notes & Comments Editor for the Tulane Law Review, and as a Senior Fellow for the Legal Research & Writing Department. During law school, Mr. Beaton also served as an extern for Judge Susie Morgan of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. He was awarded an academic scholarship, as well as the CALI Award for Excellence in Louisiana Successions, Donations & Trusts.
Mr. Beaton’s principal areas of practice are commercial real estate, leasing, land use, finance, and general corporate matters. His experience includes representation of clients in connection with purchase agreements, acquisitions and dispositions of real property, financing transactions, title and survey matters, commercial and retail leases, and general commercial contracts.
Mr. Beaton is a member of the Louisiana Bar Foundation’s Development Committee, and has been a member of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trusts & Estates Section since 2015, currently serving as a co-editor of the Section’s Probate & Property Magazine. Mr. Beaton frequently authors articles and prepares presentations relating to real property issues for various organizations and publications.
