      Biography

Travis Prestwich works exclusively representing injured parties and their families in the wrongful death and personal injury cases. He focuses on all types wrongful death and personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, nursing home negligence, premises liability and product liability cases. He recognizes that these cases require experience and personal attention to bring about the best and most just outcome for his clients. Mr. Prestwich engages in alternative dispute resolution methods like mediation, settlement conferences and arbitration where possible to reduce the stress and expense for his clients. Mr. Prestwich recently worked with a national law firm in prosecuting a mesothelioma case in Portland, Oregon, in which they obtained a $5M verdict on behalf of their clients. In two recent wrongful death claims, one resolved in mediation and the other litigated through arbitration, Travis obtained very favorable results for his clients. However, when these methods are not possible, he is a very effective trial attorney in both jury and bench trials. He recently obtained a jury verdict in a disputed liability premises case in which he obtained a judgment nearly nine times the offer made, and also settled a motorcycle accident case for $1.1M. He understands the worry and stress that a death or injury can place on a person and his or her family. He recently completed a four-year term on the Oregon State Bar Board of Governors and was the chair for the Bar's Public Affairs Committee. This position allowed him to lead the Bar's legislative efforts, both by working with Bar staff and fellow Board members, as well as, testifying before the Oregon legislature. A highlight of that service was his leadership in obtaining changes in Oregon law regarding cy pres, i.e. giving unclaimed monies in class action lawsuits to legal aid rather than refunding those monies to the corporate wrongdoer.
