Description: Oversees the preparation and assembly of, and timely distribution of, agendas and calendars for the Board of Directors and committee meetings including tracking new, referred, and postponed items and ensuring that all documents, reports and correspondence are accurate and complete; Coordinates the distribution of minutes and communicates pertinent actions or referrals to the Board or committee concerned; Assists the Board Secretary and provides administrative support in varied special administrative projects related to the work of the department and may represent the department in dealings with other departments and agencies; Performs office administrative support duties for the Board of Directors, or associated committees to which assigned.

Counsel Houston Baptist University

Description: Provide professional in-house legal services to support the University and its affiliates on matters arising within the day to day operations. Provides legal advice to the University President, VP’s, deans, department chairs, faculty and staff on a variety of legal matters, including intellectual property, risk management, employment matters, immigration, regulatory laws, liability issues, real estate, contracts, business and corporate matters. Maintains corporate records for the University and its subsidiaries and affiliates, including Beechnut Street, Inc., HB Housing Corp., HB Housing Partnership I, Ltd. and Bradshaw Recreation Center, Inc. Coordinates the presentation of web casts and audio conferences on legal topics of interest to faculty and staff. Facilitates discussions on the University’s current methods of addressing the issues raised in such presentations, and how to improve those methods to meet current legal requirements and the needs of students. Conducts investigations and oversees outside counsel in assigned legal and litigation matters. Works with the President’s assistant in drafting corporate resolutions, special recognition's, and degree presentations.
