Vanessa C. Deniston

Vanessa C. Deniston represents plaintiffs in all types of employment related legal actions ranging from harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination against some of the largest companies in the nation including Chevron Corporation, Rite-Aid, CVS, the Walt Disney Company, Lufthansa Cargo, A.G., the Kellogg Company, and Bikram Choudhury’s Yoga College of India with Carney Shegerian. Vanessa’s client-centered mindset is established in every case she handles, whether she is representing an employee who has been discriminated against and harassed based on a protected class or when she is advocating for an employee who has blown the whistle on dangerous and illegal or criminal conduct. Vanessa is motivated by a passion for attaining justice and financial compensation for her clients up to and including trials.

Vanessa completed her education on the East Coast graduating from University of Massachusetts, Amherst magna cum laude in 2007, thereafter successfully attaining her Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts in 2010. Vanessa externed for a federal judge at the United States District Court, Central District in Los Angeles, California and has aggressively litigated plaintiff’s cases with one of the most successful Plaintiff’s employment trial attorneys in California at Shegerian & Associates in Los Angeles, California.

Vanessa has successfully negotiated multiple six and seven figure settlements for clients based on FEHA claims such as disability discrimination, age discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful termination in violation of public policy. Vanessa has also defeated over a dozen summary judgment motions brought by defendants in the past year. Vanessa is admitted in three different states, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and California, as well as in the Northern and Central Districts of the U.S. District Court.

An avid domestic and world traveler with a strong interest in other cultures, histories and experiences, Vanessa loves meeting new people, seeing new places and learning from people from all walks of life. Her love of different people and experiences bolsters her holistic view on representation in that she truly enjoys and specializes in giving her clients personal attention and meaningfully involving them in the litigation process to ensure their comfort, security and confidence in the representation.
