W. Cleveland "Cleve" Acree, II, is a partner in the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. For over 20 years, Mr. Acree has focused his practice in the areas of professional liability, premise liability, product liability, general liability, medical malpractice and legal malpractice litigation. In the area of professional liability litigation, Mr. Acree focuses on the defense of the medical profession representing physicians of all specialties, health professionals, as well as hospitals. In recent years, he has also developed a sub-specialty in the defense of Ophthalmologists on behalf of one of his clients. On behalf of his corporate clientele, Mr. Acree also has extensive experience handling product, commercial, premises and general liability actions in both state and federal courts across Florida. Due to the nature of his specialized practice, he often appears in courts throughout Northern, Central and Southern Florida.
Mr. Acree is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar. He represents clients throughout Florida in both state and federal courts and is admitted in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern districts of Florida. In addition to being a member of the American Bar Association, he is a member of the affiliated National LGBT Bar Association. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and is a member of their Diversity Committee. Locally, he is a member of the Equal Opportunities Law Section of The Florida Bar, the Central Florida Gay & Lesbian Law Association - a Voluntary Association of The Florida Bar, as well as the Metropolitan Business Association. He also frequently lectures at various events for many of his clients on pressing liability issues.
Mr. Acree received his Juris Doctor, with honors, from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida in 1987 as a member of their "Charter Class". Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida in political science. He is a third generation "native" Floridian and was born in Lake Wales, Florida. Following the completion of his legal studies, he returned to Orlando where he and his family have lived.
Mr. Acree has participated in various pro bono projects. He received an Award of Excellence in 1994 from the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, Inc. for his work as a Guardian Ad Litem representing children who were removed from homes as a result of abuse or neglect.
