W. Douglas Myers was born in Paducah, Kentucky on August 21, 1950. He attended Murray State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971 and a Master of Science and Economics in 1972. He was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, honorary fraternity. Doug received a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1974. While in law school, he served as Editor of the Louisville Lawyer and was a staff member of the Journal of Family Law from 1973 to 1974. He was Law Clerk to Justice Marvin J. Sternberg of the Supreme Court of Kentucky from 1975 to 1976.
Doug is a member of and past president of the Christian County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and serves on the Board of Governors. He is a member of the American Justice Association and serves as a State Delegate. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Justice Association. In 1998, Doug served as President of the Kentucky Justice Association. He has also attained the rank of Associate with the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Doug focuses his practice in civil litigation. He practices primarily in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, and workers' compensation.
Doug is married to Jan Myers who is a teacher in the public school system. Doug and Jan have three children: Jenny, Will, and Jordan.
